Guck

People often struggle to cope with their emotions and habitually end up suppressing the thoughts and feelings that they are not comfortable with. Some of us have been totally overwhelmed at times in our lives by traumatic events and the subsequent emotions and images that cause us to relive these experiences. Our body-mind then creates elaborate defensive structures to block the feelings and imagery out of our conscious awareness. That causes us to disconnect from the parts of our body- mind holding the pain. These parts of our body-mind then shut down becoming deadened and diseased.

Thoughts, feelings and emotions that we fail to digest accumulate within our body, putrefying as they turn into a heavy congestive mass of toxicity that eventually causes the body to break down.

The majority of the toxicity accumulates in the lower part of the torso. Many of the people I work with have described very dark icky feelings as I direct them to focus their attention inside of this toxic mass. This may also be accompanied by feelings of nausea, slight headaches and other physical discomforts. Feelings and memories may also surface during the process, and may continue to surface over the course of the next few days.

Breathing softly and deeply as you focus your attention in the midst of this content activates the generative healing powers of your body-mind. Much of the congestion that has accumulated in your body will gradually dissolve and feelings of discomfort will dissipate. Your body will become more alive as it breaks down and expels the accumulated toxins. You’re reintegrating with your body as you breathe consciousness back into the cells, tissues and organs.

The tension or congestion that you feel in some part of your body may dissolve in as little as five minutes. However, our bodies can become very congested over time. And some of us have built up lots of defensive armor to block unpleasant feelings and memories out of our awareness. Then it can take days, weeks and even months of consistent practice. Do the practice every day, even if you only have fifteen minutes. And you can always extend the practice up to an hour or two and achieve much more powerful results.

Breathing into these spaces enables you to reconnect with the damaged and dissociated parts of yourself. You begin to process the underlying mental and emotional baggage that has held you down. And that frees up your brain to work in more productive ways. Your senses become more vivid and you begin to clearly see the patterns that have played out in your life. The generative force that flows from within gives you a more youthful quality and initiate growth as it nourishes and heals your body.
