Chi Chi is the Chinese word for the force that gives us life. Healthy chi is a form of sustenance that creates vitality by feeding and nourishing the cells and organs of our body. Chi has a consciousness or intelligence about it. We can increase our awareness by building up chi within the body-mind. There are many different kinds of chi. Our soul emanates a form of chi that is the essence of who we are. Spiritual practices can allow us to access the chi associated with various forces and beings. Chi can be found in the mountains and oceans. Chi is also generated and moves through us with the healthy expression of emotions and the meaningful experiences that we share with others. Powerful generative forces that facilitate growth flow through children, adolescents and young adults filling their bodies with vital chi. Many of us routinely do things that compromise the quality of the chi. As a result our chi stagnates and becomes toxic. Stagnant or toxic chi deadens our consciousness and creates stress within the body that causes it to break down, hence we age faster. Many of the substances that we ingest create toxicity within the body and mind. For instance, the particles ingested by people who smoke pollute the body. And this often causes the body and aura to look and feel heavy and sludgy. Our body performs a wide array of amazingly complex functions. Traditional medical practices such as ayurveda and acupuncture facilitate healing by enhancing the body’s own organic processes. Western allopathic medicine generally works at the surface by addressing only the symptoms. Most allopathic medications work primarily by suppressing symptoms which will often drive the imbalance deeper into the body. These medications often shutdown or otherwise impair various functions or processes within our body and mind. Alcohol and other recreational drugs also impair the processes of the body and mind. The use of any form of drug may result in damage to the physical and subtle bodies. Junky, sugary and other processed foods are dead and devitalized. They create stagnant chi as they rob your body of its life force. Commercial produce is sprayed with pesticides. It’s just common sense; the pesticides that are used to kill bugs will poison your body. Foods such as raw organic fruits, vegetables, sprouts, nuts and grains contain some of the most powerful life force. Raw foods also cleanse the physical body of toxins. Food is fuel. Give your body the absolute best fuel possible and it will naturally serve you better. Our organs and systems become sluggish when we fail to get adequate rest and allow ourselves to become physically depleted, and that prevents them from working efficiently. Getting adequate rest will allow your body can replenish itself. Water that sits for too long becomes stagnant. A similar phenomenon takes place in our body. Exercise promotes circulation and facilitates the elimination of physical toxins. Physical activity stimulates the movement of chi. Our body-mind needs to process all of our experiences and sensory input. We are just not equipped to cope with the sensory bombardment that many of us are currently subjected to. Continuous over stimulation from television, radio and noisy chaotic environments overwhelms the senses. Over stimulation numbs us as it scatters our focus. Excessive sensory input creates a lot of static clutter that clogs our sensory channels. This static clutter then interferes with our ability to process our thoughts feelings and experiences. Have you ever walked into a room when someone was angry and you could feel it with out them saying a word? That happens because emotions have a substance to them. We internalize the thoughts and emotions that arise in response to stressful situations and unhealthy relationships. All those mental-emotional energies settle into the body or hang out in the aura where they turn into a heavy congestive residue. Do everything possible to clean up your life, dealing with any issues that arise to the best of your ability. Stay away from toxic people, and surround yourself with people who stimulate and bring out the best in you. Thoughts, feelings and emotions need to be "digested". Whatever you fail to digest gets pushed down in the body or hangs out in the aura where it turns into a heavy congestive residue. Breathing softly and deeply into stuck, difficult or painful feelings will activate the digestive process that cleans up your chi. Our body-mind needs stillness and quiet to decompress and replenish. Take time to tune into your body. Breathe into feelings of stress, tension or any emotional sorts of feelings. Working with this practice will activate a generative healing force within your body. The Chinese developed practices such as chi gong and tai chi to promote health and longevity. These practices generate new vital chi that nourishes, strengthens and heals the body. Building Chi through these practices will cause you to develop a more radiant presence. Deep tissue massage and other kinds of body work will stimulate your body’s own healing capacities as it causes the chi to circulate. Garbage foods, substances, over-stimulation, traumas, thwarted ambitions and all the feelings we push down inside deaden our body-mind. And that leaves us disconnected from our source. Vital body-mind functions are restored during the healing sessions. Foundational structure and circuitry are developed and your soul is drawn into your body. The emanations of your soul flow from within giving you a sense of direction, purpose. And you become really present within your body in such a way that you develop the power to create what you want in the world.
